Q: How much ground do I need?
A: This really depends on what you want from the day, for a Covert Shoot you only require a fall out zone of 300 metres.  For a full Simulated Driven day we have covered this on as little as 30 acres.  The benefit with Sporting Glory UK is that we are very versatile and we have ability to bring out the best from even the smallest pocket of land.  If you happen to have several thousand acres then the options are limitless.

Q: What do I, as the customer need to do?
A: Sporting Glory UK provides the clays, the equipment to fire them and the ATV's to manoeuvre them. You just need to organise the day as you would on a normal day's shoot.  Place gun pegs, order refreshments and organise the guns.  Also a gun and quite a few cartridges might help too!

If you have any particular needs, just call and we shall endeavour to help.

Q: How do you know which drives/ground is best suited to the presentation of clays?
A: Before your day we will visit you to assess your drives and advise on various options for the most effective day.  This survey can be included in the price of a Multi-Driven day for new venues.

Q: How many guns should I get together?
A: Our charges are based on number of clays, you decide on the number of guns.

Q: Our syndicate is keen to hold a shoot, but they are concerned about clays being left around on the ground.  Is there any way around this?
A: We do offer a pick up service at the end of the day (at an additional cost) although we find most of our clients organise their own parties to collect unbroken clays.  If you have any particular concerns with using clays on your ground then please call us to discuss.

Q: I have been invited to a day's simulated game shooting.  What is the etiquette for such a day?
A: Assuming you know the shoot, keep to the usual etiquette that goes with a normal game day.  Take plenty of cartridges.  I would suggest fibre wad, at least 150 for each drive, more if you think your aim might be a bit rusty.  Dress as the weather dictates though try to stick with country wear rather than jeans and t-shirt.

If you still have doubts contact the shoot captain/organiser and ask what the day is to involve, and remember to thank the keeper (if there is one) at the end of the day, just because it's a simulated day doesn't mean they haven't put plenty of effort in to it make sure you enjoy it.

Q: Can you supply bio-degradable clays?
A: Yes and No! We can use degradable clays at an extra cost; however at the time of answer the manufactures do not supply a fully bio-degradable clay.  However when they do we shall offer this as an option.

Q: Do you cover the whole of the UK?
A: YES.  An additional mileage fee may be incurred if your location is over 100 miles from our base in Monmouthshire.

Q: What is the difference between using automatic and manual traps on a simulated game day?
A: Manual traps have less powerful cocking systems therefore cover a shorter
distance with a slower firing rate.  T
hey can prove useful however in heavily
wooded areas. Automated traps can undoubtably fire a clay further and much
faster.  They also provide the option of producing a more random or prescribed
target, therefore offering the choice to cater for various needs.  It's like comparing
the speed of a muzzle loader to a modern semi-auto!

Q: Can I charge additional costs on top of your price to cover our expenses?
A: Yes.  It is up to you what you charge your guns.  We charge you for our services. Any additional services you supply and any cost you levy for those services is between you and your clients.  Our prices are the best in the market for the type of service we provide, so there is definitely room for you to cover your costs and still charge less than most of the other shooting grounds.

Q: Will shooting a lot of cartridges hurt, I'm not used to shooting high volume days, which cartridge load is best?
A: If your not used to a lot of shooting then take it steady at first, be selective rather than trying to hit every clay that passes you. Rather than use your normal game load opt for a light clay load something like a 24gram or even better 21gram this will save your shoulder and your pocket!

And remember your basics, keep your head down on that stock, if you use a side by side take a glove, its meant to be fun so enjoy it, if you start to ache stop and rest.
